Editor's Review:
The Hawaiian Airlines Visa Platinum Card is an ideal airline credit card for anyone with very good credit history who also enjoys traveling with Hawaiian Airlines.
The Hawaiian Airlines Visa Platinum Card works in the same way as many airline miles credit cards. Cardholders are able to earn miles when they complete purchases with the card. With this card, however, cardholders earn two miles for every dollar spent with Hawaiian Airlines. Every other purchase is good for one mile for every dollar spent. Purchases made with HawaiianMiles supercharged merchant earn additional miles. All of the miles the cardholder earn can then be used to receive free travel with Hawaiian Airlines.
As an added bonus, cardholders earn a bonus of 10,000 points after completing and paying for their first purchase. Every year the card is renewed, the cardholder earns an additional 5,000 points. Like most airline credit cards, there is a cap on the number of miles that can be earned in a year. In this case, the cap is 100,000 miles. These points never expire as long as the card is active at least once during a three-year period.
In addition to its airlines rewards program, the Hawaiian Airlines Visa Platinum Card offers a variety of other perks. For example, cardholders receive up to $1,000,000 in travel accident insurance, protection from liability on Internet purchases, and total security protection. Cardholders also earn a 50% discounted companion ticket when they purchase a regular full-coach fare ticket, including applicable fees, taxes, and surcharges. Cardholders also receive an attractive 1.90% APR for balance transfers and purchases during the first six billing cycles.
There is a $50 annual fee associated with the Hawaiian Airlines Visa Platinum Card, which is low when compared to other airline credit cards. There is no additional fee for other cardholders to be added to the account. After the introductory period, the variable APR is based on the Prime Rate. The minimum potential available credit with this card is $500, while the maximum is $25,000. Cardholders that go over their credit limit are assessed a $35 fee. Late payments on balances up to $250 receive a $19 fee, while balances over $250 are assessed a $39 fee. Cash advances receive a 3% fee, with a $10 minimum and there are no balance transfer fees.
