Editor's Review:
Blue from American Express is an excellent credit card choice for anyone who has a good credit history and is looking to find a credit card with a great reward program. In addition, it offers a variety of attractive features, such as a low introductory APR and no annual fee for the primary cardholder or for additional cardholders.
One of the appealing features of the Blue from American Express card is the Fee-Free Rewards program. This program is included with membership for no additional fee. With the program, cardholders earn one point for every dollar spent. These points can then be redeemed on hotel stays, airline travel, merchandise, and gift certificates. In addition, there is no expiration date on the points and the number of points that can be earned each year are unlimited. With such flexibility and great rewards, it is by far one of the best reward programs available in the credit card industry.
The APR is another attractive feature of the Blue from American Express card. The first 12 months of membership are treated with a 0.00% interest rate on purchases. The length of this introductory offer can, however, be only twelve or six months depending on credit history. In addition, all balance transfers made at the time of application receive a 2.99% introductory rate. This rate remains in place for up to 12 months. After the introductory period is over, the variable APR remains low for purchases and cash advances and is based on the Prime Rate.
In addition to these great APR and rewards program, the Blue from American Express card offers the many benefits commonly associated with American Express. For example, cardholders receive extended warranty for purchases, return protection, purchase protection, and liability protection from unauthorized Internet transactions. Cardholders also receive auto rental insurance, lost luggage insurance, up to $100,000 in travel accident insurance, and a variety of other travel and emergency assistance services.
Cardholders also receive legal and medical referral services as well as a variety of discounts. These discounts include reduced costs on CDs and downloading featured songs. In addition, cardholders are entered into contests for concert tickets and can get other music merchandise through the Blue for Music program. A variety of additional discounts are also offered by participating merchants and retailers.
