Editor's Review:
The Gold Delta SkyMiles Credit Card, which is issued by American Express, was created for those who are interested in saving money on their flights with Delta Airlines with a unique air miles rewards program. At the same time, the cardholder can enjoy all of the benefits regularly associated with American Express credit cards.
In true American Express style, the Gold Delta SkyMiles Credit Card has several perk that cardholders find to be attractive. For example, up to $100,000 in travel accident insurance, it provides auto rental insurance, and a variety of additional travel related services. In addition, it provides extended warranty for purchases, purchase protection, and protection from unauthorized Internet transactions. The card also offers medical and legal referral services, emergency cash and card replacement, and access to the Offer Zone, which provides a variety of discounts at participating merchants and retailers.
The Gold Delta SkyMiles Credit Card provides cardholders with one mile toward air flight for every dollar spent on general purchases. Cardholders also receive two miles for dollars spent at specific merchants and retailers, including purchases related to Delta Airlines. In addition, cardholders earn 20,000 bonus miles for the first purchase they make with the card. Adding additional cardholders to the account earns another 2,500 points bonus for each person.
The points earned with the Gold Delta SkyMiles Credit Card never expire, so long as the cardholder travels with Delta Airlines at least once every three years. In addition, cardholders earn two points for certain purchases until the total amount spent in a year reaches $100,000. After this amount of spending is reached, each dollar spent receives just one point, regardless of the type of purchase.
There is an annual fee of $95 associated with the Gold Delta SkyMiles credit card. This fee is waived during the first year of membership. There is no additional fee for adding other cardholders to the account. As an added bonus, cardholders that already have an American Express Charge Card only pay a $45 annual fee.
The variable APR on balance transfers, purchases, and cash advances is based on the Prime Rate.
