For those with less than perfect credit, a prepaid card might be a good alternative solution instead of a traditional unsecured credit card. The AccountNow® Prepaid Visa® card provides many of the advantages of a traditional card without the risk of accumulating a substantial amount of debt or finance charges. AccountNow® Prepaid has a great "Credit Builder" feature for cardholders with less than perfect credit that can help to build a cardholder's credit worthiness by reporting their payment history to PRBC®, a national credit reporting agency. "Credit Builder" is included at no additional cost.
The AccountNow® Prepaid Visa® provides protection from unauthorized purchases, which is a pretty unique feature not typically offered by prepaid cards. In addition, the card offers free bill pay service for your first seven transactions made each month, which is another uncommon feature of a prepaid card.
You can prepay up to a $5000 maximum on the card per day via direct deposit as well as up to $950 per day via cash deposit at various retail locations. The maximum amount that you can store on the card at any one time is $10,000. There are limits on the daily amounts that you can withdraw that are based on how the card is funded. You can withdraw cash amounts up to $300 per day for a maximum of 5 withdrawals per day, if you fund the account via cash deposits. If you fund the account via recurring direct deposit, you can withdraw up to $500 per day.
There is an $9.95 application fee that you can avoid if you initialize direct deposit when you apply for the card.
