credit card for those that have let their credit slip and want a second chance
with their credit.
Since the Continental Finance Gold MasterCard is
intended for those with poor credit, it works a bit differently than a typical
credit card
for bad credit - it is unsecured and actually reports to the major credit
bureaus. This is what sets this card apart from others like it. You see,
normally when a person with poor credit gets a credit card, it is a prepaid or
secured card that does nothing for your credit score. You may as well have paid
in cash. However, this card does report to the credit bureaus, allowing you to
get your credit back on track.
When you are approved for this card, you
gain access to numerous benefits including a low 9.75% APR. You will also get
online access to your account and finance managing tools. You credit limit will
be increased semi-annually so long as you keep the card in good standing.
Additionally, you are not required to make a security deposit. The free credit
bureau reporting is the real draw to this card, however, making it the primary
factor people cite when deciding to join.
Because this credit card is
intended for those with poor credit, it does not have all of the luxuries of
other cards. For instance, you are required to pay fees for all sorts of things.
There is an annual fee of $50 and a monthly maintenance fee of $15. And though the first month’s maintenance fee is waived, you are required to pay a $175 processing fee. All in all, you;ll have to pay $405 in fees in the first year on this credit card.
