Editor's Review:
The Orchard Platinum MasterCard® is an unsecured credit card that is best suited for individuals who have some established credit history of some sort. If your credit history is limited AND you don't want to put down a deposit for a secured card, which typically requires an advance deposit, this might be the right card for you. This card happens to be one of our most recommended card for people with limited credit who are trying to establish a solid credit history.
Assuming you do the things necessary to establish and/or rebuild a credit history, such as making your payments on time and keeping you're spending under the card's limit, this card can help you build a more solid, stable credit history. However, keep in mind as is typical with cards designed to rebuild or establish credit, it does have additional fees that you need to consider before you apply for the card.
The APR is comparably low for an unsecured credit card of this type, and is another compelling feature of this card. But be aware -- for cardholders who plan to carry a large balance, this card can be VERY costly. The annual fee for this card ranges between $39 to $59 depending on the credit risk profile of the applicant which is about average for this type of credit card. But it's important to note that here is no additional application fee associated with this card.
