When it comes to finding a balance transfers credit card, the Bank of America WorldPoints™ Platinum Plus® Visa® Credit Card, issued by FIA Card Services, N.A. is a good option. In addition to the attractive introductory balance transfer offer, the card also features a great rewards program and many other benefits as well.
For those who are actively shopping for a good balance transfer option, you will appreciate the fact that the Bank of America WorldPoints™ Platinum Plus® card offers a 0% introductory rate for cash advances as well as balance transfers completed during the first twelve billing cycles of membership. The APR for purchases is a fixed 9.99% or 15.99% depending upon your credit history, while the APR for cash advances reverts to a fixed rate once the introductory period is complete. There are fees, however, for completing balance transfers or cash advances. In both cases, the fees are 3% of the amount transferred or advanced with a $10 minimum fee.
The Bank of America WorldPoints™ Platinum Plus® card also offers a rewards program that awards cardholders with one point for every dollar spent on qualifying purchases. There is no limit to the number of points you can earn each year, though the points you earn will expire after five years. You can use your points to purchase things such as brand name merchandise, gift certificates to restaurants, travel rebates. There is a cash rebate option as well.
In addition to the attractive introductory offer and the rewards program, you'll also receive standard platinum card benefits such as fraud protection and online access to your account. An additional benefit includes a personal concierge service. There is no annual fee associated with this credit card and you can add additional cardholders to your account for free.
There are no predetermined minimum or maximum credit limits associated with the card either, though you are expected to stay under your credit limit once your limit has been set. If you go above your limit with a balance of up to $500, you will be charged a $15 fee, a balance of $500 - $1000 will be charged a $29 fee, and if your balance is more than $1000, your fee will be $39.
This particular balance transfers card provides cardholders with a 20 day grace period before applying finance charges to the outstanding balance. Failing to pay the card by the due date, however, will result in additional late fees. If you make a late payment on a balance of up to $100, your fee will be $15. If you make a late payment on balances that are more than $100 and are up to $250, the fee will be $29. On balances over $250, you can expect to pay $39.
