Editor's Review:
Are you considering a balance transfer in order to save yourself a little money? If so, you may want to check into the Bank of America Accelerated Rewards™ American Express® credit card. This unique card combines the power of FIA Card Services, N.A. and American Express, providing you with an attractive rewards program as well as an excellent introductory offer.
When it comes to finding a balance transfers credit card, finding one that offers a 0% APR on balance transfers is exactly what you want. With the Bank of America Accelerated Rewards™ American Express® credit card, you receive a 0% rate on balance transfers as well as on cash advance checks that are processed within the first twelve billing cycles. The card also has a low fixed interest rate on purchases as well as cash advances after the introductory period expires.
In addition to the balance transfer offer, the card also features an attractive rewards program that you can participate in for free. With the program, you receive 1.25 points for each dollar you spend. There is no limit to the amount of points you can earn in a year, though the points do expire after five years if they are not used. The points can be redeemed for a number of different things, including cash, merchandise, travel, and gift certificates. And if you choose to use the points for travel, you will not have to deal with any blackout dates.
This balance transfer credit card offers some other benefits in addition to its introductory low APR and rewards program. For example, cardholders receive identity theft recovery services, personal concierge services, and absolute fraud protection.
The balance transfer fee for the Bank of America Accelerated Rewards™ American Express® credit card is 3% of the amount you transfer, with a $10 minimum fee. The same is true with cash advances. There are no predetermined maximum credit limits associated with this card, but you will have to pay a fee if you exceed your limit once it has been established If you go over you limit and you have a balance of up to $500 on your card, you will have to pay a $15 fee. If you have a balance of more than $500 and up to $1000, your fee will be $29. If you have a balance of over $1000, the fee will be $39.
The card provides you with a minimum of a 20 day grace period in each billing cycle. If you pay your bill late after it arrives, you will have to pay a $15 fee if you have a balance of up to $100. If you have a balance that is over $100 and up to $250, the fee will be $29. For balances over $250, you will have to pay a $39 fee.
In addition to the balance transfer feature, all in all, this is a very solid card with several attractive features that are worth exploring.
