The Discover® Motiva(SM) is a credit card that sends rewards your way for making on-time payments and purchases on your card. The card provides an introductory rate of 0% for 15 months on balance transfers and 12 months on purchases. The card uses a percentage cash reward system that increases with the amount of purchases you make on the card. The more you spend, the higher the percentage rebate is that you receive back. There are also special rebates for purchases made at a selection of warehouse stores and discount retail locations. With the Discover Motiva card, account holders also get additional bonus rebates for purchases made online at Discover's Exclusive online shopping website where you can receive between 5%-20% in Cashback Bonus rewards.
The rebates and cash back rewards with the Discover Motiva card are unlimited and the rebates you accrue do not expire. Cardholders are eligible to receive twice-a-year bonuses that are directly applied to their credit account just for making on time payments. Each time you make 6 on-time payments on your account in a row, you earn a special bonus that rewards you a month's worth of interest right back on to your account. That equals two full months of interest you are eligible to earn for something you normally do anyway – paying your bill. Cardholders can also redeem their rewards for gift certificates from leading retail partners. Cash redemption can either be credited to your account or applied as an electronic deposit to your bank account.
There are no annual fees associated with the card and the APR is competitive for both purchases and balance transfers. Cardholders also have access to auto rental insurance, travel accident insurance, and protection from security breaches and fraud. In the event a situation arises where fraud is suspected, account holders will receive email alerts that provide advance notification of security issues. To help ensure on-time payments, email alerts can also be issued to remind users of bill payments and due dates. Cardholders can choose a payment date that fits into their lifestyle and the card company accepts payments online and via telephone without any additional fees.
