The IberiaBank Visa® Platinum Rewards Card is a good choice for those that are interested in a balance transfer card. In addition, it offers a great rewards program that is not typically found with balance transfers credit cards.
With the IberiaBank Visa® Platinum Rewards Card, cardholders can take advantage of a 0% introductory on all balance transfers that are submitted during the first three months of card membership. The 0% introductory rate is then valid for the first six months. Therefore, if you can get the balance paid off during that timeframe, you can completely avoid paying finance charges on your outstanding balance. Even better, there are no fees associated with completing a balance transfer with this card. If you choose to make a cash advance, on the other hand, you will have to pay a fee that is equivalent to 5% of the amount advanced. There is a $5 minimum fee for cash advances and a $100 maximum fee.
In addition to its attractive balance transfer offer, the IberiaBank Visa® Platinum Rewards Card also has a rewards program. You receive one point for every dollar that you spend with the credit card. You can redeem these points for a variety of different things, including travel, merchandise, and gift certificates redeemable at a variety of different merchants and restaurants. Despite having a great rewards program, there is no annual fee associated with this card.
The card offers several benefits that are fairly common with platinum credit cards, such as online account services and lost and stolen card reporting. In addition, the card offers up to $1,000,000 in travel accident insurance.
Unlike many rewards credit cards though, the IberiaBank Visa® Platinum Rewards Card offers a very reasonable APR for those that qualify. In fact, depending upon your credit history, your APR will either be the Prime Rate plus 2.99%, the Prime Rate plus 1.99%, or the Prime Rate plus 0.99%. The APR for cash advances is also quite reasonable. Depending on your credit score, the rate will either be Prime + 1.99%, Prime + 2.99%, or Prime plus 3.99%.
When applying for this card, you'll find that there's no pre-determined credit limit. Once your credit limit has been determined, however, you need to stay within your limit or you will be charged an over-the-limit fee of $35.
