Editor's Review: For those who occasionally carry a balance on their credit cards and who want to have more control over their finances, the Slate from Chase credit card is a good option. Although the Slate from Chase credit card is not a rewards credit card, it does provide card holders with the flexibility of selecting how their money is used when paying off their credit card debt.

Slate from Chase now offers a $75 Statement Credit after you make $300 in purchases in your first 3 months as a cardholder.

To provide card holders with more control over their finances, the Slate from Chase credit card features a built-in program known as Blueprint(SM). With the Blueprint(SM) program, card holders can reduce unnecessary interest charges while also getting their balances paid down more quickly. This is because card holders have the option to pay down specific purchases, which means those items that have been designated as "pay in full" will not be charged finance charges. Furthermore, this option allows card holders to still enjoy a grace period on those items even if they are carrying a balance. This is far different from traditional credit cards on which the grace period does not apply, which means the card holder incurs finance charges on the entire balance if it is not paid in full.

In addition to providing card holders with more control over their finances, the Blueprint(SM) program also includes handy tools that help card holders make better financial decisions. For example, with the help f the Blueprint(SM) program, card holders can see how long it will take to pay off their current debt. They may also create various "what if" scenarios as they try to develop the best plan for getting out of debt.

As an added bonus for those who tend to carry a balance on their credit cards, the Slate from Chase credit card comes with a 0% introductory APR for up to the first 15 months. Since the card has no annual fee, card holders essentially get to use the card for free throughout the introductory period. As such, the Slate from Chase credit card is a good option for those who are not looking for extra features , but who simply want a credit card that will allow them to enjoy the conveniences without having to spend unnecessary dollars.
