Bank of America Launches NFL Credit Card

by on August 29, 2007

If you are a football fan, you might be excited to learn about the new offering being made by Bank of America. The credit card juggernaut has recently announced that it will be sponsoring the first ever credit card to sponsor the National Football League. With this card, cardholders can actually have the logo of their favorite team put on the front of the card.

In addition to showing off your favorite team with this card, you will also be able to earn reward points with the new NFL cards. These points can be traded in for a number of football-related goodies, including the chance to earn tickets to the Super Bowl.

With the new card, Bank of America hopes to tap into the massive NFL fan base. Considering the sport boasts about 120 million fans in the United States, there is a very significant market size to get a hold of.

This new NFL card comes hot on the heals of other sports related credit cards already being offered by Bank of America. In fact, the company already offers a Major League Baseball card as well as a NASCAR stock-car racing card.

In the case of this current NFL card, Bank of America will be offering it or at least three years as it has signed a contract for sponsorship through the 2009 season. Although the company is launching credit cards for all 32 NFL teams, it will be offering checks and check cards for only four of its teams. These teams will be the Dallas Cowboys, the Carolina Panthers, the Washington Redskins, and the New England Patriots. The bank will be looking to add other checks and check cards in the future.
