I thought the card that instantly keeps track of your rewards points was smart, but now there already seems to be a more brilliant kid on the block – the credit card that actually recognizes your voice. The concept of a credit card that recognizes your voice really should have been an obvious next step in the voice-recognition craze After all, you can rarely call a customer support hotline these days without finding yourself answering a series of questions being asked by a computer. So, why not expand this technology in another direction?
On the down side, the new credit card is about three times as thick as a standard credit card. This is because it has to carry a voice-recognition chip, a microphone, and a battery. This also makes the credit card a bit heavier than its traditional counterparts. But, as you might suspect, its developers are working diligently to create a sleeker and more attractive design.
Obviously, there are a number of kinks to be worked out with this card. Among them the fact that a person’s voice can change in response to illness, the short lifespan of the batteries used in the card, and the high cost of creating the card when compared to those cards that do not contain the same technology. Nonetheless, the concept is promising and may prove to be a breakthrough in helping to keep you and your finances better protected.
