Credit Card Thieves – Idiot Files, Part II

by on January 3, 2007

Some people are just plain stupid as this story out of Framingham, Massachusetts goes to show. It appears that two not-so-bright women from the Boston area visited a Best Buy on December 29 to purchase two plasma TVs with a stolen credit card. But, these brilliant credit card thieves weren’t happy with just two televisions – so they went back two days later to try to make another purchase

When they returned, the card had been red flagged by the bank for the bogus charges and the women were called to the table on their fraudulent purchases. Knowing they were busted, the women fled the store and literally tried to run over the security guards who attempted to stop them from leaving the parking lot. Luckily, the guards weren’t hurt.

The two women then engaged police in a pursuit that, according to police, was dangerously erratic. In fact, the women sideswiped a nearby car and popped off a rear view mirror. After apprehending these two pillars of morality, police have continued their investigation of the two women, as they appear to be long-time shoplifters and criminals but, very clearly, intellectually challenged.

Now, while I’m not familiar with how this whole credit card thievery business works, I must say that I’ve never won any awards for my intellectual capacity. However, as dull as I am, I even know better than to return to the scene of the crime with the same stolen credit card two days after buying two huge plasma screens.

I mean, I don’t know … call me crazy.

Dumbest Criminal Score: 8 (out of a possible 10)

So, this is what happens when you mix stupid with methamphetamine. So if you’re not the brightest bulb on the tree, please try to avoid the drugs. Pretty please.

Follow-up to this cute little story.

Surprise, surprise. It has been confirmed.

It turns out that the first two televisions weren’t enough for them because they had sold those in order to buy drugs.

Now who would have thought that these two fine, upstanding women would be involved in such unmentionable activities?
