FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Those visiting Fort Wayne’s Memorial Coliseum will now be able to pay for their concessions with credit or debit cards. New digital menu boards will also be added to the Coliseum, according to Randy Brown, the general manager.
The point-of-sale stations where customers will be able to use their cards were just bid out to NCR Corp. at a cost of $418,624. These will include a touch-screen interface that will make both record keeping and serving customers an easier process.
The second part of the plan, the digital menu boards will be bid out within the next two weeks. They may be able to reduce waste, as they will continuously receive an information feed from the central inventory system, thus being able to advertise leftover food at a reduced rate as the event draws to a close.
The Coliseum is working to add other state of the art technology to the venue in the future as well.
