Millionaire Acts – Best of the Best Blogger Series

Millionaire Acts - Best of The Best Blogger SeriesIn the second international edition of our Best of the Best Blogger series, we’re talking to Tyrone Solee of

Tyrone is a graduate of Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines. What’s remarkable about Tyrone’s story is the rapid ascent of his success, becoming a millionaire at the ripe old age of 26.

He launched his blog in November of 2008 because “I wanted to become a millionaire.” Not surprisingly, the name ‘Millionaire Acts’ came about from Tyrone’s desire to learn about how specifically a millionaire acts. Simple enough, right?

Tyrone started his journey to wealth at an early age when he started saving and investing in his early twenties. While Tyrone has had admittedly a bit of a head start in his quest, making his living outside of blogging as an investment and finance professional, he has had to incorporate many of the tried-and-true principals that all wealth builders have had to use. The bottom line is that Tyrone has built a significant amount of wealth in a very short time and at a very young age.

We sat down with Tyrone recently and spoke at length about his wealth journey, the Law of Attraction and Good Housekeeping magazine.

Q: What was your inspiration behind launching

A: They say that most inspirations come from pains experienced in the past. Few know that my main inspiration in launching ‘Millionaire Acts’ was a painful experience with former bosses in one of the companies I worked for. They treated me as a ‘stress ball’ or ‘stress buster’ which [was] a source of fun and humiliation for them. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise though as it gave me the courage to prove myself to them when I left. Millionaire Acts was born out of that eagerness to prove myself.

Q: How would you characterize your financial philosophy in 100 words or less?

A: Earn More Desire Less. This is perhaps the shortest financial philosophy composed of only four words that I can characterize myself in order to achieve financial freedom.

Earn more from the very essence of it means to have multiple sources of income. But this income should be classified as passive income. It would be tiring to concentrate on active income alone as you only have yourself. Therefore, as you increase your active income, invest in assets that would provide passive income for you to earn more.

In contrast, desiring less means downsizing our wants and sometimes our needs. Learn to live below your means through proper budgeting. Spend your money wisely.

Q: You’ve been influenced greatly by the film “The Secret” and the Law of Attraction, which has become a worldwide phenomenon. In what specific ways has this philosophy benefited you financially?

A: Of all the domains available back then, the Law of Attraction was the reason why I chose the domain name I wanted to become a millionaire and in order to achieve it, I should know how a ‘millionaire acts’ for me to become one of them.

The philosophy of the Law of Attraction has prompted me to study investments and personal finance which led me to becoming a millionaire at a young age of 26. Millionaire Acts has also brought me recognition in the blogosphere as one of the most recognized personal finance bloggers here in the Philippines. With that fame, it opened several doors of opportunity such as speaking engagements, featured articles to Good House Keeping Magazine, being a featured blogger in a major newspaper, etc.

Search engine wise, I was also able to optimize the names of famous tycoons here in the Philippines with their success stories. Henry Sy, Lucio Tan, Manny Pangilinan, John Gokongwei, and Tony Tan Caktiong were some of the names you will find in Google where ranked second after Wikipedia.  Truly, the Law of Attraction works.

Q: What’s been most rewarding for you about your blogging experience with

A: The most rewarding experience I’ve had blogging at was when I met my mentor and really learned how to make money online.

Through my mentor’s guidance, I was able to learn Search Engine Optimization and Affiliate Marketing, turned into a passive income-generating virtual asset and made thousands of dollars blogging.

Q: In your professional life, you work in the banking industry as an underwriting analyst specializing in distressed assets.  What’s the most important financial lesson you’ve learned in your professional life that can be applied to your personal finances?

A: Through my experience working as an analyst in the banking industry, I was able to learn more about investments particularly on loans and real estate.  With the due diligence work that I’ve done, I was also informed about the causes why most businesses fail.

Q: What’s your stance on credit cards?  Useful?  Or the root of all evil?

A: Credit cards can be classified as good debt or bad debt depending on how the cardholder uses it. Good debt is useful and beneficial. With the use of credit card, you are more secure through cashless purchases and could avail of discounts and freebies.

However, credit cards can be the root of all evil as it can be the best sources of bad debts when used without proper discipline. It can become your master and you as the slave. You can be doomed to work for the rest of your life just to pay those debts.

Our thanks goes out to Tyrone for being such an inspiration to young bloggers everywhere. Keep up the good work Tyrone.

Sir Tyrone's blog – MillionareActs, is one of the few sites that I'd subscribed since I began blogging(on and off). A model site for everybody who wants to get out of the rat race and gain financial freedom. :)
