Save Money at the Pump with the Shell Credit Card

by on June 12, 2007

If you are looking for some way – any way – to save a little money at the pump this summer, Shell stations may have the answer for you. Starting July 2nd and running through to September 30th, Shell Oil Products US will be running its “earn 25 cents per gallon” promotion. With this promotion, new Shell credit card customers will be eligible to earn back 25 cents on every gallon of fuel they purchase – up to their first 100 gallons.

In order to be eligible for the rewards, cardholders must make the gasoline purchases within the first 90 days after becoming a card holder. Once they have hit that 100 gallon mark, they will receive a $25 Shell gift card in the mail.

Of course, Shell isn’t offering this promotion solely out of the goodness of their hearts. Their hopes are that they will be able to create some new, loyal customers by getting cardholders in the habit of filling up at the pump with their credit cards. The company goal is to get 25,000 new card accounts open for through this promotion.

If you are that desperate to save some cash at the pumps, be on the lookout for ads promoting the card in your newspaper and on the radio. You will also be seeing ads on the pump toppers at the stations pretty soon. Or, you can visit www.shellcreditcard.com to learn more.
