Some People Do Get Out of Impossible Debt
Tuesday, September 9th, 2008No matter what amount of credit card debt you have, you probably think that it’s too much. And no matter what that amount is, there is probably someone out there who actually has more credit card debt than you do. It’s a problem that we all struggle with. It’s good to remember that there are other people who have struggled with massive credit card debt in the past and who have actually managed to dig themselves out of that debt despite the fact that at one time it seemed like it was going to be impossible. These stories may serve as inspiration to you if you find yourself dealing with debt that it seems is never going to be taken care of.
Here are some examples of people who have gotten out of seemingly impossible debt burdens:
• Make Love, Not Debt is another blog by a couple that is trying to get rid of their debt so that they can afford to be married without destroying the relationship by fighting over money. They managed to pay off all of their credit card debt in two years and serve as an example of a couple that inspires others by trekking through the credit card debt journey together.
• One woman documented her problems with debt and the choices that she made to go ahead and pay it off. When she started reporting on the problem, she had over $200,000 in debt. In under two years, she managed to pay half of that off. Part of that was through a reduction of credit card debt from almost $60,000 to just over $2000. She still has a lot to pay off but if she can manage to pay off $100,000 of debt in under two years then there’s a good chance that you can pay off some of your debt as well.
Everyone struggles with credit card debt these days so it’s helpful to see what other people are going through and to remember that we are not alone in this problem. It’s also helpful to realize that there are real people out there, just like you and me, who are making the choice to battle this problem with some wise budgeting and some serious cutbacks to their formerly lavish lifestyles. These choices do lead to success for some people and can ultimately allow them to live a debt-free life. If that’s something that interests you then perhaps you can follow in their footsteps!
