AUSTIN, Texas- Austin police found a Texas man in an Austin Studio 6 hotel room with over 100 allegedly stolen credit card numbers. The card numbers came from people who had recently stayed at the same hotel. The perpetrator, Frank Stokes, had used the stolen card information to make several purchases. Police had been alerted to several suspicious charges by local residents who were victimized by the theft.
So far there have been at least a dozen victims, and Austin police believe there will likely be many more as they continue their ongoing investigation.
