WESTPORT, NY- Three men were arrested on charges of credit card fraud after using fraudulent cards to purchase alcohol from local Westport, NY liquor stores. The men were arrested by a Westport police officer just outside of Dan’s Liquors.
The police received a call from Castle Wine and Spirits after a man had purchased liquor with a fraudulent credit card. The caller was able to give police a description of the suspect and the New Jersey license plate for the car he was driving. This was then given to local patrol cars, which helped officer Dave Librandi spot the vehicle and arrest the men as they were leaving the store’s parking lot. The merchandise purchased with the fraudulent card was recovered along with eight fraudulent credit cards.
The men, John Bunche, 30, of Bronx, N.Y.; Deon Crenshaw, 34, of Jamaica, N.Y., and Danny Daniels, 34, of Springfield Gardens, N.Y., were all charged with fifth-degree conspiracy to commit credit card fraud. All are scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on April 13.
