Vacation. Fun times can be funded by the wise use of a credit card. Theme parks and other popular destinations where there are a lot of other people can be a haven for thieves. Carrying a credit card instead of cash helps keep your money safely insulated behind a credit card account.
Medical. Most hospitals take credit card payments. Using yours to pay for services that are not covered by insurance helps you avoid having to pay cash for them. It is also a good way to keep track of specific health related expenses. In fact, there are credit cards that are aimed specifically at the medical market. The CareCredit card issued by GE Money is one such card.
Major purchases. If you have to make major purchases and are able to obtain a 0% interest account, then using a credit card is wise as long as you are able to pay off the balance before the introductory time period ends. Major appliances are good candidates for this type of use. Sometimes merchants have special offers when using their in-store cards.
