World Missions Visa Card Donating to Diocese

If you are looking for a credit card that gives back, the Society for the Propagation of the Faith has recently announced a new card that might be of interest to you: the World Missions Visa Card. The World Missions Visa Card will donate a small percentage of the purchases you make with the credit card to over 1,150 mission dioceses worldwide that will go to some of the most destitute nations in the world

The card, which is being offered through Washington Mutual, will be donating one percent of all purchases made with the card to the Propagation of Faith. The Propagation of Faith then uses this money to help support its evangelisms throughout countries in Latin American, Africa, Asia, and the Pacific Islands. The money will also be put to use to help with health care and education in these countries, with more than 90% of the funds collected going toward mission efforts.

“Throughout the Missions, whether it’s a Catholic orphanage or a rural health clinic, or through outreach to children or adults with HIV/AIDS, Propagation of the Faith support sustains local priests, Sisters and Brothers, and lay catechists who offer concrete help – and hold out the hope of our Lord – to the poor,” said Monsignor John E. Kozar, who is the national director of the organization in the United States.

“With this credit card,” he continues, “Catholics here in our country can be part of our work….We are very grateful to Washington Mutual and Follieri Capital for introducing this unique opportunity to help the Missions. We encourage participation in this program whose donations will support the Church’s worldwide mission to bring help and hope to the suffering and the poor.”

So, if you’re Catholic (or even if you’re not) and you’d like to support the church’s Propagation of Faith mission work, this might be a card worth considering.*
