Editor's Review:
The Alaska Airlines Visa Signature credit card is issued by Bank of America. Although the card has been created in cooperation with Alaska Airlines, it still makes for a great general use credit card.
The Alaska Airlines Visa Signature credit card offers a number of perks that are helpful to any credit card holder. For example, the card offers extended warranty services on purchases. It also provides a variety of emergency and travel related services, giving the cardholder peace of mind. In addition, the cardholder can access account information easily and conveniently online. For the cardholder who does wish to travel, the Alaska Airlines Visa Signature Credit Card provides $1,000,000 in travel accident insurance and a $50 companion ticket every year.
Although the travel rewards program may not be the main reason a person applies for the Alaska Airlines Visa Signature credit card, it is still a great program to belong to. Every purchase made with the credit card earns one airline mile, and double airline miles can be earned by making purchases through Alaska Airlines or on special vacation packages. In addition, purchases made at certain restaurants earn 5 miles per dollar. Upon being approved for the credit card, the cardholder also receives 20,000 bonus miles and an additional 2,000 miles are added to the account each year.
The miles earned with the Alaska Airlines Visa Signature credit card are good toward tickets with Alaska Airlines. They are also good toward partner airlines, including Lan Chile, American Airlines, Continental Airlines, British Airways, Horizon Air, Hawaiian Airlines, QANTAS, and Northwest Airlines. There is no expiration date on the miles, so long as the card remains active for three-year period, so even those who do not travel frequently can take advantage of the rewards program when the time does come.
There is a $75 annual fee associated with the Alaska Airlines Visa Signature credit card. The APR for the card is based on the highest Prime Rate during a three-month period. There is a 3% fee on cash advances with a minimum of $10. There are, however, no fees for balance transfers.
