Editor's Review:
The Asiana Visa Platinum card, which is issued by Bank of America, is an excellent choice for those with good credit. It is also great for individuals who travel frequently with Asiana Airlines because it provides them with special reward incentives for purchases made with the card.
The Asiana Visa Platinum card offers a low 1.90% introductory rate to all qualified applicants. This introductory rate is good on all purchases and balance transfers and is good for the first six billing cycles. Thereafter, the APR is based on the highest Prime Rate for a three-month period.
The low APR is enough reason for many people to use the Asian Visa Platinum, but the miles rewards program is also quite attractive. This is true even for those who do not fly frequently because the points earned with the Asiana Visa Platinum card never expire. To earn points, all a cardholder needs to do is complete purchases with the Asiana Visa Platinum card. Each dollar spent earns one points. Money spent with Asiana Airlines earns two points for every dollar spent. In addition, cardholders earn a bonus 5,000 points with the first purchase and receive 2,000 bonus miles every year after paying the annual fee. Although points never expire, there is a limit of 100,000 miles that can be earned each year.
In addition to the miles rewards program, the Asiana Visa Platinum card offers up to $1,000,000 in travel accident insurance as well as auto rental insurance. It also offers annual discounts on business class ticket purchases and on companion tickets.
The Asiana Visa Platinum card has an $80 annual fee, but there are no fees for additional cardholders. Earning a free ticket within a two-year period will recoup this fee. The minimum credit limit available with the Asiana Visa Platinum is $2,000, but there is no maximum limit. If a cardholder goes over the limit, however, there is a $35 fee. Late payments on balances up to $250 result in $19, while balances of over $250 results in a $39 fee. There is a 3% fee on cash advances with a $10 minimum charge. There is not, however, a fee for balance transfers.
