Editor's Review:
The American Express(R) Premier Rewards Gold Card is a charge card, not a credit card, and is best suited for those who can pay off their card balances in full each month. This is a great card choice for small business owners as well as those who want to avoid accumulating credit card debt, large revolving balances and high ongoing interest rates that users of many traditional unsecured credit cards can be saddled with.
Probably the single, most well-regarded benefit of the American Express(R) Premier Rewards Gold Card is access to the Membership Rewards program at no additional cost. Cardholders will earn one Membership Rewards point per dollar spent on all purchases. After making their first purchase with the card, cardholders will receive 10,000 bonus points. Those points can be redeemed for a $100 gift card at participating retailers. Points can be redeemed at more than 20 participating major airlines for rewards on travel. Your points will never expire and there is no cap or limit on the amount of points that you can earn with the card.
Often not mentioned, one outstanding benefit of the American Express(R) Premier Rewards Gold Card is access to Gold Card Events, which provides exclusive access to select concert tickets, sporting events, and more. The one downside of the card is the relatively high annual fee of $125 as well as $35 for each additional card on the account. But the fee will be waived for the first year on the primary card and can be waived for up to 5 additional cards on the account.
The American Express(R) Premier Rewards Gold Card is one of the most recognized cards anywhere, and provides a host of additional card benefits and services including car rental insurance, purchase protection, discounts from select merchants and much, much more.
All things considered, this card is one of the better cards available in the marketplace and one that we still highly recommend.
