The Citi® mtvU™ Platinum Select® Card provides a variety of benefits that are not commonly found in credit cards for college students. For example, the card comes with an introductory offer for the first 7 months. During this time, you'll receive a 0% APR on purchases but only if you qualify based on your application and credit history. After the introductory period is complete, the APR is variable and based upon the Prime Rate and your credit standing.

The Citi® mtvU™ Platinum Select® Visa® Card for College Students also offers identity theft protection, lost and stolen card reporting, emergency cash and card replacement services. In addition, you will enjoy fraud and security protection services as well as protection against unauthorized purchases.

When it comes to travel, the Citi® mtvU™ Platinum Select® Card offers several benefits that are not commonly found with a student credit card. For example, cardholders enjoy auto rental insurance, lost luggage assistance, and discounts on auto rentals. You can also enjoy free medical and legal referral services, automatic bill payments and 10% discounts when making purchases at MTV stores.

As a cardholder, you also enjoy access to a number of different credit education tools and tipsheets while also participating in an attractive rewards program. The Citi® mtvU™ card's rewards program offers five Thank You Points® per dollar you spend with the credit card toward the purchase of CDs, video rental, bookstore items and meals at restaurants. You will also receive one Thank You Point® for every additional dollar you spend as well as 25 Thank You Points® every time you make your payment on time. In addition, if you keep your grades up, you can earn an additional 2,000 Thank You Points® twice per year according to your GPA.

The points you earn with the card can be redeemed toward the purchase of gift cards, travel and other items and the points are good for up to five years after they have been earned. It should be noted, however, that you cannot earn more than 75,000 points per year.
