Editor's Review: Discover® Open Road(SM) Card was designed specifically for those who want to earn cash back rewards on their auto maintenance and gas purchases.

Discover® Open Road has an 0% introductory APR on balance transfers and purchases for six months. The ongoing APR for this card is comparable to other cards in this category, but only the higest qualifed credit applicants will receive the lowest APR available.

Cardholders can earn a full 5% in cash back for gas as well as car maintenance purchases, up to 1% for all of their general purchases, and .25% on purchases at discount stores and select warehouse clubs.

It's important to note that the rebate on auto maintenance and gas purchases is a variable rate based on spending amounts made with the card. The card offers a full 5% rebate on auto maintenance and gas for up to the first $1,200 in purchases on the card. After that, cardholders receive a .25% rebate for purchase amounts between $1,200 and $1,500, .5% rebate for purchase amounts mad between $1,500 and a 1% rebate on all purchases made over $3,000.

For general purchases, cardholders will receive .25% rebate for up to $1,500, a .5% rebate for between $1,500 and $3,000 purchases and over $3,000 will earn a full 1% rebate.*

There is no limit to the cash rebate amounts that cardholders can earn, and as long as the account remains active within a 36-month period, your rebates will never expire.

Cardholders can also earn double Cashback Bonus® rebates for gift certificates from participating Discover® Card Partners. The card features the typical platinum benefits that include car rental insurance coverage accident insurance, as well as various security and fraud protection services.
