Editor's Review:
The First PREMIER Bank Gold MasterCard, which is issued by First PREMIER Bank, is designed for those cardholders that have less than perfect credit.
The First PREMIER Bank Gold MasterCard offers a variety of perks, the most attractive of which is the fact that it reports transactions to the four credit bureaus. In addition, the card provides a variety of Internet account related services and fraud and security protection services. The card also has a low APR for cards of a similar nature.
Like many cards designed for individuals with poor credit, the First PREMIER Bank Gold MasterCard has many associated fees. Each of these fees is added to the first statement and they are subject to finance charges. In addition, the available credit on the card will be limited until these fees are paid.
To set up the account, cardholders need to pay a one-time $29 fee. There is also a program fee of $95. An annual fee of $48 is also assessed to the card, as is a monthly participation fee of $6. Therefore, the total amount a cardholder will pay for the first year of membership is $244.
The First PREMIER Bank Gold MasterCard offers a low 9.90% fixed APR for purchases and a 19.90% fixed APR for cash advances. Cardholders who fail to pay their minimum payment fee two times in a six month period or who go past their due date to times in a row, however, will have their APR on purchases increased to a fixed 19.90% rate.
The minimum potential credit limit for the card is $250 and there is no maximum potential limit. Cardholders that exceed their limit are subject to a $25 fee. Those wishing to increase their credit limit must pay a $25 fee. Late payments are also assessed a $25 fee. Cash advances have a 3% fee with a minimum of $5. There is no maximum on the fee associated with cash advances.
