Howard Clark Points To Backlash Against Rewards Cards

HLN money expert Clark Howard has a few important tips about what credit cards might work best for consumers. Howard believes that there is currently a backlash against rewards cards. Many consumers feel there are too many “gotcha fees” attached to these cards and are looking for something more straightforward.

According to Howard, there are some “vanilla” credit cards out there without all the rewards. These cards usually offer lower interest rates, no annual fees, and no “gotcha fees”.

A current offer by Barclays is called the Ring Mastercard. It offers an 8% interest rate and no late payment fees. Recent report surfaced recently stating that the average rate on new cards was 15% during mid-March. That makes the Barclays card a solid offer for anyone carrying debt or looking to open a new credit card account.
