Editor's Review: The American DreamCard Platinum MasterCard is distributed by HSBC Bank Nevada and is perfect for people wanting to have the standard perks of a platinum card with the added bonus of a sweepstakes program thrown in for fun!

What makes this credit card stand out from the pack is its sweepstakes program. And how it works is simple. You are entered into the sweepstakes once for each dollar you spend on purchases. A drawing occurs each and every month and a winner will be announced. The prize? Up to .50% of what all American DreamCard cardholders have spent in the previous month. The minimum prize amount is $25,000! Plus, new cardholders will receive 1,000 entries just for signing up online.

You can also earn additional entries by referring others to sign up for the DreamCard. You will receive 50 entries per referral and a bonus of 1,000 when someone you referred is approved for a card.

Unlike most other platinum credit cards, there aren’t very many other additional benefits. However, you can access your account online through the AccountCentral system and pay your bill online. Likewise, there is an account protection program, for an extra fee of course, and a benefit plan, which also requires a fee. So even though the sweepstakes program is quite substantial, there still aren’t any other benefits available without shelling out some cash.

If the sweepstakes offer is a big enough draw for you, there are still a few things you need to know about prior to signing up. For instance, this credit card has no annual fee and there is a very low interest rate available for those with great credit. However, the APR is related to the current Prime Rate, so you may never get the lowest available interest rate.

Even though there aren’t the typical benefits associated with this card, it is still a pretty good deal considering how many sweepstakes entries you receive and the fact that there is no annual fee. However, the interest rate may be a bit high if your credit isn’t perfect and the lack of standard benefits is a bit disconcerting for some. But if its sweepstakes entries that you’re looking for, you’ll definitely get plenty of this with this credit card.
