Most individuals with poor or limited credit are attracted to the Orchard Bank Platinum MasterCard because they do not have to prepay the card in order to utilize it. Orchard Bank Platinum MasterCard, which is issued by HSBC Bank Nevada, N.A. has been created for individuals who have average credit or have a limited credit history, but still wish to obtain an unsecured credit card.

Most individuals with poor or limited credit are attracted to the Orchard Bank Platinum MasterCard because they do not have to prepay the card in order to utilize it. This card is truly a "credit" card in that it extends a line of credit to its cardholders. In addition, all transactions occurring with the card are reported to the four credit agencies. Therefore, this card goes a long way in helping to establish credit history or to rebuild bad credit.

The Orchard Bank Platinum MasterCard has a low APR when compared to other cards of its type. The variable APR for purchases and cash advances is based on the Prime Rate. There is, however, a minimum cap for both purchases and cash advances. For purchases, this cap is 14.90% and it is 20.90% for cash advances. This means the APR will never be lower than the cap, regardless of the Prime Rate.

There is also an annual fee with Orchard Bank MasterCard Classic. The fee ranges anywhere from $39 to $59 depending on credit history. Unlike many credit cards of this type, there is no application fee or monthly maintenance fee.

Although there is an annual fee associated with the Orchard Bank Platinum MasterCard, there is no fee for placing additional cardholders on the account. There is no limit on the potential minimum or maximum credit line available with this card. Those who go over their predetermined limit once it is established, however, are subject to a $29 fee.

Cardholders who are late making their payments are also assessed a fee. Cardholders with balances up to $1,000 receive a late payment fee of $29, while those with a balance over $1,000 receive a $35 fee. There is also a cash advance fee, which is either 5% of the total money advanced or $5 - whichever is greater. There is no maximum on the fee that can be charged for a cash advance.
