If you are looking for a reward credit card that will help you earn free airline travel, you might be interested in the American Express Preferred Rewards Green Card. With this card, you are automatically enrolled in the American Express Membership Rewards program at no added cost. You'll earn one point for every dollar you spend, and these points can then be traded in for travel certificates with one of 16 different international or domestic airlines. You can also choose to transfer your points to one of 11 different frequent flyer programs, with each point equaling 1 frequent flyer mile. With the Express Approval feature, applicants can expect to get a decision on their application in less than 60 seconds.
As an introductory offer, this instant approval card will provide you with 5,000 bonus points after you make your first purchase. These points can then be redeemed for a gift card worth $50. In addition, the points that you earn will never expire and there is no limit to the number of points you can earn each year.
One important fact to keep in mind is that this card has to be paid off at the end of each billing cycle. Therefore, there is no interest rate associated with the card. In addition, the credit card does not have a pre-set spending limit, which means your purchase approval is determined based on your account history, your credit record, and your personal resources.
The American Express Preferred Rewards Green Card does have a rather high annual fee of $95. Additional cards on your account will cost you an extra $30 per year. This fee is waived for up to five cardholders during the first year of membership, however, so it is best to add additional cardholders upfront.
Although the card does have a high annual fee, it offers a number of benefits in addition to its reward program. This reward card also makes it possible for you to keep yourself protected by providing purchase protection, fraud protection and extended warranties for purchases. You can also keep track of your transactions with the year-end financial statements and easily find the professional services you need with the help of the medical and legal referral services provided by the card.
