Editor's Review: The Bank of America® Accelerated Rewards™ American Express® Card is a basic rewards credit card with an instant approval feature and a low fixed interest rate which is designed to be used by people who have established good credit. The rewards program on this card provides consumers with an opportunity to earn points towards the purchase of general merchandise. The interest rate on the card is low and there is a twelve-month introductory interest rate on balance transfers and cash advance checks which makes this an appealing option to people seeking to move money around on their accounts or to take out cash from a credit card.

The card offers a basic rewards program through which each dollar spent on the card equals one point towards the purchase of merchandise. The points are accumulated without limit and last for five years from the time that they are awarded. They may be used to purchase items as well as to get gift certificates to certain retail stores and restaurants or to purchase travel tickets and other standard rewards items. In addition to the rewards program of this card, the Bank of America Accelerated Rewards™ American Express® Card offers basic credit card holder perks including identity theft and fraud protection.

The Bank of America Accelerated Rewards™ American Express® Card has no annual fee and has a comparably low fixed interest rate on purchases. This makes it appealing to people with good credit who are seeking a low-interest card. It should be noted that the interest rate on cash advances and balance transfers is set at a much higher rate than purchases so the card is not necessarily right for people who regularly take cash out on their cards or who use balance transfers to move money from one account to another.

However, it should also be noted that someone who is interested in a cash advance or a balance transfer upon first getting approval may greatly benefit from this card because of the 0% introductory interest rate on cash advances and balance transfers which lasts for twelve billing cycles.
