The Starwood Preferred Guest® Credit Card from American Express is an outstanding rewards card that offers an "Express Approval" decision in 60 seconds or less when applying online. Cardholders with very good credit who frequently stay at Starwood hotels and resorts who are looking for an instant approval credit card will find this to be an excellent choice.
The Starwood Preferred Guest® card has an excellent rewards program that gives cardholders one point for every dollar spent with the card and double points for purchases made at participating Starwood hotels, resort properties and retail outlets.
In addition, cardholders who become members of the Starwood Preferred Guest® loyalty program can earn one additional point per $1 spent on qualified purchases. Points can be redeemed for free hotel stays and airline travel and cardholders have the option of transferring earned points to more than 30 other major frequent flyer rewards programs, making it one of the more compelling airline rewards programs in the credit card business.
Card members will earn 10,000 bonus points after making their first purchase with the card, which is enough for up to three free nights. After making $15,000 in purchases on the card within 6 months, cardholders will earn an additional 15,000 Bonus Starpoints® as well. Points will not expire as long as the account remains active - at least one purchase made with the card within each one-year period of card membership.
The annual fee is $45 but it's waived for the first year and there's a low introductory rate of 2.9% for purchases and balance transfers for the first six months.
