Editor's Review: The primary feature of the Citi Diamond Preferred Card is the attractive reward offer of up to 5 reward points for purchases made, but the card also features several low APR credit card features that potential applicants who are interested in low interest cards of this sort should take note of.

First of all, the card offers a very low interest rate on balance transfers of 0% for up to 12 months. But keep in mind that this 0% intro offer applies only to balance transfers, not on purchases or cash advances.

For card applicants interested in low interest credit cards in general, be advised that card issuers across the board usually will require cardholders to have at least good credit, and very often will require excellent credit, to approve the applicant for any type of low APR card. The rule of thumb, in general, for low interest credit cards the lower the APR on the card, the more stringent the card issuer's credit requirements will be. The Citi Diamond Preferred Card is no different; it will require very good to excellent credit to get approval. What you will get after you're approved, however, is an excellent rewards card offer (with no annual fee) and a relatively low ongoing APR which is a pretty nice combination indeed.
