The Citi® Diamond Preferred® Rewards Card, issued by MasterCard, was created for individuals who have a good credit history who desire the freedom and flexibility of a reputable credit card. In addition, the rewards program is an attractive feature and bonus to this credit card.
As with most Citibank cards, the Citi Diamond Preferred Rewards Credit Card offers a variety of attractive services and benefits. For example, it offers purchase protection, extended warranty for purchases, fraud and security protection services, protection from liability for unauthorized transactions, and price protection services. It also provides a variety of convenient online services and an autopayment option. For the traveler, the card offers up to $1,000,000 in travel accident insurance, auto rental insurance, discounts on auto rentals, and a variety of additional travel and emergency assistance services.
The Citi® Diamond Preferred® Rewards Card also offers a lost wallet service and an optional photo on the card. Cardholders can also take advantage of medical and legal referral services, as well as emergency translation services.
The rewards program is another attractive feature of the Citi® Diamond Preferred® Rewards Card. The rewards program provides cardholders with five points for every dollar spent at drugstores, supermarkets, and gas stations using the card during the first twelve months of membership. After the introductory period is complete, cardholders earn one point for every dollar spent on any purchase. The points earned can be redeemed on a variety of services and items. Or, the cardholder can choose to reduce the APR for purchases and cash advances for a certain amount of time by trading in the points. The points expire after five years and there is a 75,000 yearly limit on points that can be earned.
The Citi® Diamond Preferred® Rewards Card offers a 0.00% APR for up to the first twelve months balance transfers submitted during this time frame. After the introductory period is complete, the variable APR is based on the Prime Rate. The APR is also based on the Prime Rate and is in effect from the time the card is activated. As with most cards, the APR for cash advances is higher than for purchases. There is no annual fee associated with the card and additional cards for secondary cardholders are free.
