You can't use cash to make payments online or by phone, and most car rental companies, hotels and airlines require a credit card to secure your reservations. If you're in need of another option for making these types of purchases as well as at retail establishments, the Vision Premier Prepaid Visa® Card is an alternative payment option. Approval for the prepaid visa card requires an identification check.
When you have the Vision Premier card, you'll be given access to the rewards program, which is a rare benefit of a prepaid debit card. The rewards program earns you one point for every dollar spent using your card. You can then redeem your points for wireless airtime minutes, where 200 points is equal to 1 minute of wireless airtime on your prepaid cell phone.
Vision Premier requires a weekly fee if you aren't using a direct deposit to fund the card, and a one-time activation fee. Also, reloading your card will result in fees if you do it at retail locations, so it is in your best interest to use direct deposit to add more funds as you'll be able to avoid the weekly fee as well as the activation fee. If you withdraw cash from the card at an ATM, there is an ATM surcharge, and fees for making purchases at retailers that require you to enter your personal identification number (PIN), so always choose the "credit" option when using your card when making purchases to avoid the ATM fee.
If you don't have the option to set up a direct deposit, you can reload your card at more than 100,000 Bancorp Bank locations, including Western Union, ACE Cash Express, MoneyGram and PayXone.
Not only does using the Vision Premier make it possible for you to shop online, reserve seats on an airplane, rent an automobile or earn rewards, but it also gives you an additional feature that is typically only offered to credit cardholders. Visa Zero Liability Policy means you aren't held liable for unauthorized purchases and transactions made with your card, making your Vision Premier card safer than using cash.
