Editor's Review:
The Bank of America® WorldPoints™ Platinum Plus® Visa® Card is one of several different rewards credit cards offered by Bank of America. This card is geared specifically toward individuals that have good credit that are also interested in participating in a rewards program.
In a manner that is very similar to other reward credit cards, the Bank of America® WorldPoints™ Platinum Plus® Visa® Card allows cardholders to earn one point for every dollar they spend with the card on qualifying purchases. The points the cardholder earns can then be spent toward purchasing brand name merchandise, cash, dining certificates, and travel. Unlike some rewards credit cards that offer travel as an option, however, the Bank of America® WorldPoints™ Platinum Plus® Visa® Card does not have any blackout days.
Cardholders are free to earn as many points as they like with the Bank of America® WorldPoints™ Platinum Plus® Visa® Card each year. They should be aware, however, that any points that go unused will expire after five years.
Although the Bank of America® WorldPoints™ Platinum Plus® Visa® Card offers a rewards program, it does not have an annual fee. In addition, it offers a very attractive introductory offer. With the introductory offer, the cardholder receives a 0% APR or balance transfers as well as for cash advances made with the card. This interest rate remains in effect for the first twelve billing cycles of card membership. Once the introductory period expires, cardholders that have a good credit history can enjoy a low fixed APR. Depending on the applicant’s credit history, this APR will be either 9.99% or 15.99%.
In addition to the rewards program, the Bank of America® WorldPoints™ Platinum Plus® Visa® Card also offers a few benefits that would be expected from a platinum card. For example, cardholders receive personal concierge service, fraud protection, and easy access to their accounts online.
The amount of credit the cardholder can expect to receive from the Bank of America® WorldPoints™ Platinum Plus® Visa® Card will vary widely because there is no preset minimum or maximum that a cardholder can receive as a limit. Once the limit has been established, however, the cardholder must be certain that this amount is not exceeded. If the cardholder does go over the limit and has a balance of up to $500, he or she will be charged a $15 fee. If the cardholder has a balance of over $500 but less than $1,000, the fee will be increased to $29 while a person with a balance over $1,000 will be charged a $39 fee.
For those interested in reward credit cards that make it simple to earn points and that offer a variety of methods for cashing in on reward points, the Bank of America® WorldPoints™ Platinum Plus® Visa® Card is certainly worth considering.
