Editor's Review:
For those who are looking for a rewards credit card that offers plenty of opportunities to earn bonus points, the Citi ThankYou® Preferred Rewards Card - $250 in Gift Cards credit card may be just what you are looking for. In addition to awarding cardholders with one ThankYou® point for every dollar spent with the card, this card also provides cardholders with a number of additional benefits and perks.
When using the Citi ThankYou® Preferred Rewards Card - $250 in Gift Cards credit card offer, cardholders enjoy a number of different methods for earning points. In addition to earning one point for every dollar spent, cardholders receive bonus points for every year they remain a cardholder. After the first year of membership, cardholders receive a bonus that is equivalent to 1 percent of the ThankYou® points earned that year. After the second year of membership, they receive 2% of the points earned. For the third year and beyond, cardholders receive a 3 percent bonus each year. New cardholders also receive 25,000 ThankYou® points, which are worth $250 in gift cards, after making $2000 in purchases within the first three months. Those who choose to enroll in Account Online service and who choose to go paperless can also earn an additional 200 ThankYou® points.
Unlike some rewards credit cards that are currently on the market, there is no limit on the number of points that can be earned with this card. In addition, the points never expire and they can be used toward a variety of different types of rewards, including gift cards, travel rewards, merchandise, cash and more.
While the card does not have an annual fee, there are a few fees that cardholders should know about. For example, cardholders who take the card to a foreign country should expect to pay a fee that is equivalent to 3 percent of the purchase price in US dollars. Those who wish to conduct a balance transfer will have to pay the larger of either $5 or 3 percent of the amount of the transfer, while those who complete a cash advance will have to pay the larger of $10 or 5 percent of the amount of the advance. Cardholders who make a late payment on the card should also expect a fee of up to $35.
