Editor's Review: For those who travel frequently and who have a preference for staying in Marriott Hotels, the Marriott Rewards® Credit Card could be a wise choice. Card holders earn rewards for every purchase made with the card but also enjoy additional non-reward points benefits as well.

When making purchases with the Marriott Rewards Credit Card card holders receive one point for every dollar spent. When using the card at Marriott, on the other hand, card holders enjoy three points for every dollar spent. Furthermore, after making their first purchase with the card, card holders receive 30,000 bonus points as well, redeemable for up to 4 free nights. These points can be applied toward stays at the Marriott as well as toward airline miles, Elite guest services and other rewards.

In addition to receiving points for purchases made with the card, holders of the Marriott Rewards Credit Card from Chase enjoy a variety of other perks. For example, once the account has been approved, card holders receive a free night stay at a category one through four hotel. Card holders also achieve Silver elite status with 10 nights credit toward Elite status and will receive one Elite night for every $3,000 that are spent with the card. With 50 Elite nights needed to reach Gold status and 75 needed to reach Platinum status, it won’t take long for those who use their credit cards regularly to achieve an Elite status upgrade.

Unlike some rewards credit cards that place limits on the amount of points and other rewards that can be earned each year, the Marriott Card does not have caps in place. As such, card holders are free to earn as many bonus points and Elite nights as they like each year.

While there is a $45 annual fee associated with the Marriott Rewards Credit Card, this fee is waived for the first year. In addition, for those who use the card regularly and are able to take advantages of the awards the card has to offer on a regular basis, the card will more than pay for itself.
