The Citi Forward® Card for College Students is a a great new rewards card offer for college students. Student cardholders that can stay within their credit limit and pay on time will be rewarded with interest rate reductions as well as bonus points.
The introductory offer is 0% if you qualify for 7 months on all purchases. The ongoing APR is competitive and comparable to similar offers once the introductory APR expires.
Students who can be sure to pay their bill on time and also stay within their credit limit will receive 100 bonus points for each billing period they do so. Students can also get their APR reduced as well for paying on time and staying underneath their limit. Reductions in the APR will be awarded .25% increments but only after 3 months in a row of making a purchase, staying underneath the established credit limit and also getting their bill paid on time. It's important to note that in order to qualify for the rate reductions, you must do both - stay within your limit and pay your bill on time. Students can get a total of 8 rate reductions, for a maximum APR reduction on the card of 2%.
Student cardholders can earn up to 1,000 bonus points after they sign up for paperless statements. However, cardholders must sign up within the first 3 months of opening the account to qualify for these bonus rewards. Cardholders will qualify for 1 point per dollar spent on all other purchases. Points can be redeemed through the Thank You network for gift cards, music, electronics, or even cash.
