The Choice Privileges Visa Platinum Card, which is issued by FIA Card Services, N.A., was created for individuals who have very good credit and wish to participate in a rewards program.
The most attractive feature of the Choice Privileges Visa Platinum Card is the reward program. Cardholders will earn 8,000 points after making their first purchase with the card, which is enough points for 1 Free Night at any Choice Privileges location. This program is particularly beneficial to cardholders who frequently stay at Choice Privileges hotels because cardholders earn 15 points for each dollar spent at one of these locations. All other purchases earn two points for every dollar spent. These points can later be redeemed for free hotel stays, a variety of travel rewards, and gift certificates. Cardholders can also use their points to make a donation to the Armed Forces Relief Fund.
Unlike many credit card rewards programs, there is no cap on how many points a cardholder can earn with the Choice Privileges Visa Platinum Card. The points do, however, expire on December 31st of the second calendar year that follows the year the points were earned. As an added bonus, the first purchase made with the credit card earns 8,000 points.
The Choice Privileges Visa Platinum Card has a variety of additional benefits. For example, it offers auto rental insurance, lost luggage insurance, and up to $500,000 in travel accident insurance,
The Choice Privileges Visa Platinum Card also provides a low introductory APR of 1.90%. This rate is good for both purchases and balance transfers and applies toward the first six billing cycles. After the introductory period is complete, the variable APR is based on the Prime Rate.
The Choice Privileges Visa Platinum Card has no annual fee. In addition, other cardholders can be added for no extra fee. The minimum allowable credit limit is $200 and there is no maximum allowable credit limit. A cardholder who exceeds his or her limit, however, is assessed a $35 fee. A cardholder who is late making a payment on a balance up to $250 is assessed a $19 fee and late payments on balances greater than $250 results in a $39 fee. There is a 3% fee, with a minimum of $10, on cash advances. There is not, however, a fee for balance transfers.
