Billings Police Administrator Uses City Credit Card for Personal Items

BILLINGS, Mont. – Former police administrator, Deanna Anthony, appears to have spent $20,000 on items like big screen televisions and computers, on a city-issued credit card, according to receipts released by Billings officials and obtained by the Billings Gazette. Thousands of dollars were spent by Anthony before officials became suspicious. The whereabouts of some of the purchases are unknown at this time.

Anthony was placed on administrative leave on May 20, 2010, but resigned on November 10, 2010. Her resignation came just two days before she was scheduled to meet with Assistant City Administrator Bruce McCandless and other city officials. Currently, no charges have been filed. The case is being reviewed by the Department of Justice.
