Some special offers are not worth the price. This holiday season, many credit card companies are offering special deals to their customers. The most popular offer seems to be the skip-a-pay offer. It sounds like the answer to a prayer for many consumers, but really it is a short term gift that requires long time payment.
The credit card company offers to let you skip a payment, usually your December payment, and keep the money that you would have used to pay your bill. This can give most consumers a fairly hefty amount of money they can apply towards their holiday shopping.
The downfall of this offer includes the fee that many have to pay in order to take advantage of the deal, and the interest that continues to accumulate. Just because you took a month off from payment, does not mean that the interest also took a month off. This is a deal most consumers should avoid.
