Small Businesses Losing Millions in Sales by Not Accepting Credit Cards

With the arrival of mobile credit card processing, there is no excuse for small businesses to not accept credit card payments. According to a survey by Intuit GoPayment, small businesses that do not accept credit cards may lose $7,000 in sales a year. Over half of the country’s small businesses do not take credit cards, which creates a potential to lose out on $100 billion in annual sales.

Intuit GoPayment just launched a national video sweepstakes, Get Business Growing, to show how easy it has become to accept credit card payments on the spot with mobile devices. Small businesses have a chance at winning $10,000.

Small businesses often have problems with cash flow. By accepting credit card payments, businesses will get paid quicker and make more sales. The survey showed that 52% made at least $1,000 more a month because they accepted credit cards and 18% made at least $20,000 more per month.
