It was recently announced that Yellow Cab in New York City will soon be making it possible for passengers to “quickly and easily” pay fares with a credit card. Right now, only a few cabs allow this type of payment and the process isnt exactly convenient. But very shortly, consumers should anticipate the process becoming a whole lot easier. Apparently, the cabs will soon come equipped with built-in touch screens that passengers can use to make their payments via credit cards.
These touch screens will also make it possible for passengers to to do a number of other things including looking up local restaurant reviews, checking on local weather reports as well as flight arrivals and departures and even to track and map their current routes. This is a great idea for a number of reasons, not the least of which is simplifying the transactional nature of a cab ride for both the consumer and the cab companies.
As always, this new advancement in technology just might make it a bit easier for thieves to take advantage, but all in all, it seems to be a pretty practical and useful idea for all parties involved.
Stay tuned for feedback.
