Editor's Review:
Are you interested in obtaining a student credit card that rewards you each time you make a purchase? If so, the Discover® Student Tropical Beach rewards card may be just the card you are looking for. Not only does the Tropical Beach card offer an attractive rewards program, it also includes a number of other benefits to its cardholders.
There are many benefits associated with the Discover® Student Tropical Beach rewards card. For example, cardholders enjoy zero liability on unauthorized purchases as well as discounts on services and products from participating retailers and merchants. In addition, cardholders can select from over 150 different card designs while also enjoying access to a variety of different account services online.
Cardholders also receive an attractive introductory offer during the first 9 months of card ownership. During this time, cardholders receive a 0% APR on all purchases made with the card. After the introductory period is over, the APR is determined based on your credit rating and the current Prime Rate.
The rewards program is one of the best features of this card. Every time you use the card, you receive at least .25% of your purchase back and you can earn up to 5% back. Every time you make a purchase at a restaurant or purchase gas, movie tickets or travel-related items, you receive a 5% rebate. When you make purchases at discount stores and warehouse club, on the other hand, you earn a .25% rebate.
In terms of general purchases, you earn a .25% rebate for the first $1,500 you spend, .5% for every dollar you spend over $1,500 and up to $3,000 and 1% for every purchase made beyond $3,000. In addition, you can earn a double Cashback Bonus® when you make your purchases at participating Discover Card Partners.
There is no limit on the amount of rewards you can earn each year, though account inactivity for more than 36 months may result in the loss of some of the rewards you have earned. You can redeem the rewards you have earned in $20 increments so there is no need to hang onto the rewards over a long period of time. In addition, so long as you use the card just once per year, you won't have to worry about the possibility of losing out on the rewards you have earned.
